Question about Taylormade Golf clubs / Price (value)?
I just started to play golf and enjoy, so I want to invest in a decent set of clubs. I play with the set of a friend of the Mizuno's, but I know he wants them back. I got a complete set of TaylorMade's (irons: T-Step ultralights; drivers: R5, V-Steel and Rescue Mid, and the putter is a Rossa Suzuka – Set includes bag, 20 balls, and all the covers), all brand new. He won it in a fundraiser two years ago and says they are then worth $ 1,200, and offered them to me at $ 500 (he does not golf). He is a good friend, so I dont even know if I should negotiate down if too high due of age. Is this a good deal? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks to my mistake in the woods / drivers description – as I said, it's all new to me.
I think this might be a good deal. I did not see some heads on the irons, so the value is really an unknown. I would say that these shafts were pretty much on the upper end of the line, so you're probably pretty safe. The V-Steel is very popular with low HC players, the Rescue is a great club (got one) and Rossa putters are really nice. Overall, retail (if all was new), this bag would do well in the 1K or higher. Give him $ 500 and pay for his round.
