How the Next Gen Knives Kabar Kabar Compare the original?

I have an original USN Kabar that one of my father's friends in the military gave me. And 'the Commemorative Iraqi version, and is a very beautiful knife. He also gave me a showcase for it, and keep it there because I have many others who prefer to use fixed blades the Kabar, because I just like a knife show. I wish I had a Kabar take with me camping / hiking, and I was particularly looking at the Next Generation ones, adjust the anvil. I wondered how this is compared with the original, so that the original is 1095 and the new one is carbon 440A stainless steel, but he wondered, different type of steel, if it still holds up to Legacy Kabar or if I just have an original.

I have no experience with the Ka-Bar Next Gen, but seem were very similar to that handle large designs. The old style Ka-Bar are also available with Kraton handles and nylon sheaths, but keep the steel in 1095 if that is what like (and probably what I had to go). EDIT: David, it would also be smaller than a pocket knife, and / or a multi-function, and yes, will be used for tasks more … but when it comes to splitting logs for firewood (not all of us like to carry the extra weight or create waste that gas-powered fuel stoves to create, or we may need a larger fire to keep warm / dry clothes, etc.), collection of materials to build a shelter (again, a tent is not only the weight extra, but why did you go to these beautiful places and spend time in a nylon 'cell'?) or stag slaughter (if you're also hunting), then a larger, heavier knife (like the Ka-Bar), should also be part of your kit. 'Backpacker' is not really the same 'Camping', and yes, for backpacking, tents, stoves, 'instant' meals and smaller knives are all the advantages.
