Why are there no diesel-hybrid cars?
I know there are a number of prototypes and some have been produced in Japan, but how come there are not first? Diesel mpg better than gasoline and diesel hybrid though logal seems to produce cars .. Is there a technical problem or ..?
You mean here in the United States? The U.S. has very stringent emission standards for diesel engines. Diesel Cars in the U.S. got a bad reputation. Remember the Olds 350 diesel? Awful. The diesel Volkswagen Rabbit sold in the U.S. in the late 70s to early 80s? They have incredible fuel economy. But if you bury your foot in the throttle all the way to the floor, may just … perhaps more than 60 mph. (given favorable conditions, a flat surface and a tail wind) the Mercedes Benz 240D may be the only car ever produced not can bark the tires on polished concrete. 0-60 is measured with a sundial.
