my friend did not do much for me .. I was afraid .. valentines day?

On his birthday we had together for a week and I am sure I saw him, what he really liked and he would appreciate knowing we have shared for over a year and at Christmas he got me nothing, not even a card. I sent him a card and brought him a gift that he has not even an eyelash about it. Then earlier before Christmas in October on my bday, he said he would pay us, we go on a trip to the seaside for a few days closer to xmas .. never just happens. I paid for us to go to London, meals and everything, except for a spontaneous treat! .. I dreaded Valentine's Day, because I just embarrassed now. I am not materialistic, it would only have been nice to get a card and a personalized Gift, nothing expensive. Just something to show he cares. I just get excited about another occasion when he has nothing for me, and I again feel Embaressed.
