Ping engineers have captured the hot face of the G10 and the solid sound and feel of the original and put it in the Rapture V2 package.By extending the height of the face and elongating clubhead dimensions Ping increases the sweet spot on the clubface and provided a very hot face, the enormous speed of the ball, regardless of player skill levels.
With a slightly elongated face profile and high-tech blend of titanium body with tungsten weights, V2 plays on the club fitters holy grail 'of high launch, low spin. The Rapture V2 does so with style and performance. Dual Tungsten weights do the job of keeping the weight low and deep in the head, the ball in the air.
The first noticeable difference with the original Rapture driver is the racy lime green color on the shaft and the sole plate. But the change is cosmetic. In what Hollywood would call a plot twist, the V2 features a super lightweight Ping stock shaft 939 in L through X bows. With an axle weight of 47 grams and a 45.75-inch finished length, making the V2 one of the lightest and longest drivers on the market. Making a cameo in this sequel is an upgrade of the stock Mitsubishi Diamana Blue Board shaft. At 63 grams, This ultra-premium reduces the launch axis and for players who want a little beefier than the shaft 939.
